Time Marches On

We've just been keeping on at the Owens' house. We've been enoying any days that are nice enough to be outside, and are looking forward to celebrating Easter on Sunday.

What Kyler's up to:  cruising everywhere but not ready to go on his own yet, has 6 teeth, says uh-oh, mama, dada, hi, ball, and has words that sound close to book, bark, up.  Still loves balls, pots, and pans.  When it's nice outside he also likes a stroller ride and LOVES the slide.  Has started pretending to feed himself, mommy, and baby dolls.

What Kinsley's up to:  making all kinds of projects, still taking care of all her babies, BARBIES, and singing all the songs from Frozen.  She is working on tying her shoes and putting in her own ponytails.

Valentine's Day!

Big Birthday!

Kyler turned 1 on February 8!  He had a great day and was lucky to have lots of family and friends come celebrate with him.  The cake was definitely the highlight of the day for him.

At 1 Kyler weighs 26.7 pounds and is 32.5 inches long.   He is standing up and starting to cruise.  He says uh-oh, mum, and dada.  Sometimes it sounds like he says ball-ball.  He signs more, all done, dog and will copy bath.  He has 2 teeth and 2 more almost in.  He is able to roll a ball back and forth to someone and put balls in his toys.  His favorite toys are the ones with balls or pans and spoons.  He loves to tap/drum too.

11 Months

Kyler was 11 months old yesterday and he is a busy boy! Lately his favorite thing is opening the kitchen cupboards, and in the last 2 days he's decided he wants to start pulling up (on everything!).  His favorite toys are balls, pots, and his car from Santa.  He still loves his sister and she can almost always make him laugh.  Kyler has figured out Kinsley has the good stuff and is always crawling over to her.  Kyler still loves to eat and is pretty much eating all table food, although he still loves his "ba".  He really likes muffins and peas.  Kyler babble-talks all the time and his words are starting to sound closer to real words.  He does say "uh-oh" and "mum" pretty clearly.  He is also starting to sign if forced- mainly "more".  No new teeth but some days he acts like he might be feeling something in there.  We are excited to see everything the next month brings and are ready to celebrate our first year with our little boy!

Christmas ReCap

We had a wonderful Christmas Holiday and got to ring in the New Year with 2 healthy kids (which is unusual in this house).  Kinsley and Kyler enjoyed seeing their families and it was fun watching them play with all of their cousins.  After New Year's we relaxed for a couple of days and now have had 3 days back in our regular routine!

Busy Days

We had a busy weekend even though we mostly stayed home and out of the cold.  Yesterday the kids got to see Santa.  Kyler did great and Kinsley also did a good job talking to Santa and telling him what she wanted.  It was a community event so we also got to have pancakes, make a craft, and Kinsley got a new dress for her McKenna doll at the vendor fair.  Today Michael got the Christmas lights put out even though it was snowing.  Kinsley and I made dipped pretzels for an early holiday treat.  Kyler also had his 10 monthday today- he celebrated by having  typical day of trying to crawl into the kitchen and get a hold of anything he shouldn't have.  I'm sure the next few weeks will be full of fun as well and we are looking forward to our first Christmas as a family of 4!

9 months

Kyler is 9 months old!  He is still a busy boy and learning new things everyday.  He likes any toys that he can take things off of, put things in, or just bang on.  He is crawling everywhere and talking all the time.   He still loves his baby food but is now eating all kinds of finger foods too.  He had another ear infection last week but is now back to himself.  We got new carpeting in the basement last week and Kyler loves having another place for playing.
We did Trick or Treat with just Kinsley this year since Kyler goes to bed early (and was also sick).  She decided to be the pink Supergirl this year.  She had a blast going with our old neighbors and the Great Pumpkin brought all 4 Shrek movies in exchange for the peanut candy.  She has been doing great in school and is now wanting to write and play school at home.  She is still in love with her dolls and Barbies and spends most of her time changing their clothes to get them ready for various activities.
