Christmas Recap

Kinsley had a great week leading up to Christmas. She pretended to be "Ho-Ho" and delivered baby clothes in her little sack. She was super excited by the time the big day came! She was very glad to see her own new baby clothes from Santa on Christmas morning. We got to spend time with the Owens side of the family Christmas afternoon, and have our fingers crossed to see all the Bensons for New Year's.

Pancakes with Ho-Ho

Last Saturday Kinsley got to go to a special event at Westdale Mall. A local kids group was putting on a vendor fair, a pancake breakfast, and visits to Santa. We had tried seeing Santa at a different mall before Thanksgiving but she wasn't convinced. I think seeing him while eating pancakes helped her warm up and this time she was more than ready to sit with the big guy!

Since we've put up the tree, and even more since she sat with Ho-Ho, Kinsley also likes to pretend she is Ho-Ho! She has her very own list and will tell you who is on the good or bad list. We've gotten her to focus on movie characters for the bad list instead of naming real people!

Catching Up

We've had a busy, but not too busy, November at our house. Kinsley enjoyed the end of Fall and is getting used to being inside more when we get home each day. She is loving playing with her babies, especially pretending to feed them, change them, and put them to bed. She definitely has a vivid imagination!

Now that Thanksgiving has come and gone, Kinsley is getting excited for Christmas and "Ho-Ho" (although she still won't have anything to do with him). This year she wants baby clothes. We will be putting up our tree once December comes and our Elf, Flynn, will be coming back to visit also. We are hoping for a happy and healthy holiday season this year!

Trick or Treat

Tonight Kinsley got to go trick or treating in our neighborhood. She was hesitant when we got ready but once we were outside and going she was very excited. We went with our neighbor's kids so that made it even more fun. After we got home she got to hand out candy to some other trick or treaters and then the Great Pumpkin brought her some presents in exchange for some candy. She got a new move (Tangled) and a little Halloween Lalaloopsy.

Pre-Halloween

Our weekend was filled with getting read for Halloween activities. On Saturday we carved/painted pumpkins. Kinsley liked the carved pumpkin pieces but not the goop on the inside. She also loved seeing them lit up at night. Today we went to Niabi Zoo for Boo at the Zoo. Kinsley was very excited to wear her dinosaur costume and get candy. Seeing the animals out in the cool weather and riding the train were also big perks. Tomorrow night is the official Halloween and we are planning a little loop of trick or treating and then handing out candy at home.

Early Christmas

Thanks to a find on Craigslist Kinsley got her big Christmas present a little early this year. On Sunday Michael picked up her very own playhouse and slide! Luckily we've had some great weather this week so she's been able to have a lot of fun playing in it.

Fall Fun

Fall has come- with cooler weather and falling leaves. Kinsley has been enjoying playing in the leaves and getting buried. On Saturday we went to the pumpkin patch. Kinsley had a good time looking at the animals, playing at the playground, and picking out pumpkins. She wasn't into taking pictures though!

Fun and Firsts

Luckily we've had an extension of the nice weather to enjoy lately. We've been spending our time outside as usual, and with the night coming earlier Kinsley is enjoying getting to see the moon before we head in for the night. This past Sunday we also went to the Harvest Moon Celebration at a park in town. Kinsley loved the games- especially the lollipop tree, and we also got to play at the park before heading home.
Being 2 has also brought some firsts at our house. Kinsley is officially potty learning- and doing very well! She's been using the potty for quite awhile but has been wearing her big girl underwear for a week now. Sunday we also got her first hair trim- just a little off to even up the back. This weekend we will be visiting Grandma and Grandpa B. so we can go to one last wedding of the season, and then the following weekend we hope the nice weather holds for a pumpkin patch trip!

PARTY!

Kinsley got to have her birthday party yesterday at Grandma and Grandpa O's. She had so many people come to love on her and was so excited that there were some other kids there. She got her Mickey Mouse cake and balloons that she's been talking about all summer. She was a very lucky girl in the present department and has had fun playing with new toys today. She also got some new jammies, and tonight at bath she said, "Mommy, I wear new jammies, I so excited." So of course she got to wear new jammies to bed. She's a had a great first week as a 2 year old, and we're looking forward to another full year of fun and excitment with our Kinsley Shea Shea!

2 Years Old

Kinsley turned 2 on August 30! So far she thinks being 2 is pretty great- she's gotten a lot of attention and a lot of cool new stuff. She even got her first very own pet from our baby-sitter- a betta named Cupcake. Tomorrow is her Mickey Mouse birthday with the Owens side of the family, it's supposed to be a nice day and we are looking forward to some fun. More pictures to come!
